Velvet City
The City by the Lake, Heart of America, a place where all things are possible. I find myself in Chicago where a cluster of building rises above the glassy surface of Lake Michigan and the clattering roar of the El train passing overhead make this photographer gasp. Needless to say that I am not here for the inspired writers, innovators or creative minds of the past two centuries, but to capture the engagement and wedding of Crystal and Louie. Compelling, with that kind of genuine smile that sources straight from the heart and makes one's welcoming so easy, these two second generation Greek- Americans are all about what we at home call "leventia". Generosity, honesty, and kindness that surpass the -ever so evident- wedding glamour, and a love for family and its core values that moved me as much as the grandeur of their open hearts. Here's to a life filled with wonders !
